Abstract
The Parties have reached the present agreement in order to create the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries, whose objectives are the following: (a) coordination of the production and marketing of natural rubber; (b) technical cooperation amongst Members; (c) to bring about fair and stable prices for natural rubber. To achieve the mentioned purposes, the Association shall in particular: (1) elaborate studies of the world rubber position and examine the short and long-term issues relating to the natural rubber industry; (2) encourage research and development in production, marketing and consumption of natural rubber; (3) make recommendations to Members, if it deems it necessary; (4) collaborate with other international organizations, as appropriate. Part E of the agreement refers to membership: the Association is composed of an Assembly, an Executive Committee and a Secretariat. Part F lays down voting rules.

Entry into force notes
The Agreement came into force on 8 April 1970 in Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Thailand. In Vietnam and Singapore, it entered into force on 23 June 1970. In India and Papa New Guinea the Agreement came into effect on 11 August 1975 and 28 November 1975 respectively.
