Abstract
These Regulations set out procedures and requirements for the registration of food irradiation treatment premises and provides for requirements for operating and conducting these premises.
A certificate of irradiation shall be obtained by a food irradiation premise in order to import, manufacture, advertise for sale or sell food that has been treated with ionizing radiation.
The Regulations further provide for packaging and labelling requirements and for the prohibition of re-irradiation of irradiated food except for certain food.
