Abstract
This Act lays down amendments and addenda to the Geographical Indications Act 2000, mainly concerning the Registrar and the appliance for registration of geographical indications. In accordance new subsection (2) of Section 19 of the principal Act, hereinafter the period of registration of a geographical indication shall be of ten years. The registration shall be renewable upon application as per new Section 19A. On the other hand, new section 19B regulates the restoration of a geographical indication that has been removed from the Register.
