Lembaga Kemajuan Johor Tenggara Act 1972.

This Act provides for the setting up of the Lembaga Kemajuan Johor Tenggara, a body corporate engaged in the promotion of social and economic development in the State of Kawasan Johor Tenggara. The Act is divided into the following Parts: (I) Preliminary; (II) The Lembaga; (III) Divisions, Officers and Servants; (IV) Finance; (V) Other Powers of the Lembaga; (VI) General.
The Lembaga shall in particular undertake agricultural development as well as control and coordinate related activities. To this end, it shall initiate preliminary studies of possible development and redevelopment areas and make preliminary plans and surveys. The Lembaga shall be responsible to the competent Minister. The latter is empowered, under Section 8, to give direction in compliance with this Act. The reports specified by Section 11 shall be transmitted to the Minister by the Lembaga. A special Fund is established by Section 17 in order to finance the activities and policies covered by this Act. At the same time, a reserve Fund is created within the aforesaid Fund.
