Abstract
The National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 is a comprehensive document that serves as a guide to boost Malaysia's economy by fostering a vibrant and sustainable environment for entrepreneurs. It directly supports the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030, which aims to ensure that all Malaysians achieve a good quality of life by 2030. The overall goal of the Policy is to position Malaysia as a leading entrepreneurial nation by 2030, focusing on fostering a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem and culture. The document outlines key objectives and strategic thrusts to achieve this Vision, including enhancing Malaysia's global competitiveness and promoting entrepreneurship as a preferred career choice. The main objectives of this policy are as follows (i) create a holistic and conducive entrepreneurship ecosystem for sustainable, balanced and inclusive socio-economic development in Malaysia; (ii) develop a Malaysian community with an entrepreneurial mindset and culture; (iii) produce quality, viable, resilient and competitive entrepreneurs with a global mindset; (iv) scale up local enterprises and SMEs; (v) make entrepreneurship as a preferred career of choice.
The document sets out the following thrusts, including strategies and activities to acheve the goal (i) fostering entrepreneurship culture across all segments of Malaysian society; (ii) optimizing regulatory environment and access to funding; (iii) stimulating holistic and integrated entrepreneurship development; (iv) accelerating economic growth through innovation-driven enterprises; (v) strengthening entrepreneurial capabilities and performance of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs); (vi) internationalizing high-growth enterprises.
