Abstract
This Ordinance is enacted for the constitution and management of National Parks and Nature Reserves. The Ordinance consists of 38 Sections divided into 6 Parts.
Part II provides forthe appointment of Controller of National Parks and Nature Reserves, functions and duties of the Controller, including: 1. to exercise supervision and control of, and manage, national parks and nature reserves; 2. to institute measures for the protection of national parks and nature reserves and to promote public appreciation and enjoyment thereof; etc. The Controller may constitute a Special Park Committee to assist the Controller in the protection and management of a national park or a nature reserve. Part III stipulates the procedure for constituting a national park or a nature reserve.
The Ordinance further makes provisions, for: constitution of a national park or a nature reserve within a forest reserve; appointment of managing agent; assessment of and decision on compensation; offences and penalties; etc.
