Abstract
Pursuant to the general provisions laid down in the Petroleum (Safety Measures) Act 1984, the present regulations make rules governing the transportation of petroleum by pipelines. These provisions shall apply to pipelines transporting liquid petroleum and natural gas as defined under regulation 3. A written permission is required for installation as well as for operating. The operator shall maintain and produce for inspection the information and records specified under regulation 8. Regulation 9 deals with inspection. Regulation 16 sets out penalties.
