Abstract
These Regulations stipulate the requirements which must be met for the importation of plants, plant products, growing media/rooting compost, beneficial organisms, plant pests and carrier of plant pests into Malaysia in order to prevent the entry and spread of noxious plants and pests.
The importation of any plant shall be allowed only if in possession of a permit issued by the Director and if accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate.
The Regulations further provide for: restrictions on the importation of various plants as specified in the text; importation, eradication and control of dangerous pests; inspection, quarantine, treatment or destruction of plants imported into a component region; powers of Plant Quarantine Inspectors; penalties; etc.
