Proclamation of the Exclusive Economic Zone of 25 April 1980.

Malaysia declares sovereign rights for purposes of exploring and exploiting, conserving and managing the natural resources of the sea-bed and the subsoil and the superjacent waters, and jurisdiction also for the preservation of the marine environment, in a zone of 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured.
