Abstract
This Act is enacted to make provisions for the registration and practice of veterinary surgeons and for national purposes to provide for certain provisions with regard to a period of service in the public services after registration. It is constituted by 45 Sections divided into 8 Parts: Preliminary; The Malaysian Veterinary Council; Registration of Veterinary Surgeons: Practice of Veterinary Medicine; Disciplinary Proceedings; General; Regulations; and Supplementary Provisions for National Purposes.
Section 3, 4 provide for the establishment and composition, duties and power of the Malaysian Veterinary Council. Section 12 and 16 provides for persons entitled to be registered as veterinary surgeons and restriction of registration. Any registered veterinary surgeon who desires to practise veterinary medicine after the thirty first day of December of any year shall make an application and shall pay the prescribed fee for a certificate to practise veterinary medicine during the ensuing year (setc. 17).
