Abstract
This Decree approves the Regulation for marine fishing. It provides for all aspects related to fishing activity in jurisdictional waters of the Republic of Mozambique. It defines and establishes provisions for: artisanal fishing, semi-industrial and industrial fishing, underwater fishing, marine fishing, maritime waters, internal maritime waters, fishing gear, authorized marine species, protected areas, fishing vessel requirements, fishing licence requirements, fishing activity with scientific, or non-commercial purposes, total allowable catch, inspections to be carried out by competent authority and sanctions to be paid by offenders. It also lists 10 annexes specifying size and season of authorized marine species, fishing requirements and model forms for obtaining an artisanal or industrial fishing licence.
