Abstract
This Decree approves the Regulation of Recreational and Sport Fishing. This Regulation, consisting of 35 articles divided into nine Chapters and eight Annexes, aims to regulate the provisions of Fisheries Law No. 3/90 of 26 September regarding the practice of recreational and sport fishing performed by natural, legal, national or foreign persons within the jurisdictional waters of the Republic of Mozambique. It specifies authorized and non-authorized recreational and sport fishing techniques and methods. The Regulation is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap. I); Fishing techniques, fishing gear and vessels (Chap.II); Areas and seasons of recreational and sport fishing practice (Chap. III); Fishing products (Chap. IV); Fishing licensing (Chap. V); Fishing competitions (Chap. VI); Duties (Chap. VII); Inspection, infractions and penalties (Chap. VIII); Final provisions (Chap. IX).

This Decree repeals Legislative Order No. 1977 of May 1960 related to Fishing in Inland Waters and Fish Farming; and Decree No. 518/73 regulating Sport Fishing within the Overseas Provinces of 12 October 1973.
