Abstract
This Decree approves the Regulation aiming to establish the principles, objectives and rules on the creation, protection, conservation, access, use, enhancement and supervision of the national forest heritage for the ecological, social, cultural and economic benefit of current and future generations. The Regulation applies to natural and legal persons, as well as local communities, when carrying out any activities relating to the creation, protection, conservation, enhancement, access, exploitation, transportation, processing, marketing and supervision of the forestry heritage throughout the national territory. The Regulation classifies forest management and conservation areas as delimited and zoned areas of forest heritage, intended for community development, sustainable and integrated production of timber and non-timber forest products and environmental services, including reforestation, conservation of forest species and fragile ecosystems.
