Decree No. 91/2018 establishing the adjustment of the attributions, competences, autonomy, budget regime, organization and functioning of the Institution for the Promotion of the Cashew Nuts (INCAJU, IP).

This Decree aims at establishing the adjustment of duties, competences, autonomy, budget regime, organization and functioning of the Institution for the Promotion of the Cashew Nuts (INCAJU, IP). It consists of 21 articles establishing new competencies and duties of this Institution entitled to promote the cashew tree plantation. In particular, the institution is responsible for: a) Carry out promotion, commercialization and industrialization of cashew and other almonds under the INCAJU, IP; b) Oversee the activities related to production, marketing and industrialization of cashew nuts, including other almonds; c) Develop and implement research and technology transfer of production, trade and processing of cashew nuts and other almonds under the INCAJU, IP; d) Introducing seeds, plants or plant segments of cashew nuts and other almonds in the country under the INCAJU, IP; e) Promote awareness on prevention measures, combating uncontrolled fires, pests and diseases; f) Classify and attribute the technological quality of cashew nuts and other almonds, for commercialization within and outside the country, etc.
