Abstract
This Decree approves the Regulation that defines the form of organization and functioning of the Fisheries Co-Management Committee (CCGP). The CCGP is the consultative body for participatory management at the local level, coordinated by the entity responsible for fisheries administration in the State Representation body in the Province. The CCGP operates at the level of the respective province, with representation from all stakeholders. The purpose of the CCGP is to coordinate efforts for the protection, conservation and sustainable and responsible use of fishing resources and their ecosystems at local level. The CCGP also has the functions of pronouncing on: a) assessment and monitoring of the state of exploitation of fishing resources; b) Total Allowable Catch (TAC) and Total Allowable Fishing Effort (TAE); c) design of aquaculture management plans and programmes; d) effort limitation or catch limitation measures; e) management and planning measures for aquaculture activities; f) zoning of fishing and aquaculture activities; g) spatial planning, biosafety, emergency and contingency plans; h) closed and closed periods; i) monitoring and control strategies, inspection of fishing and aquaculture; and j) proposals for fishing and aquaculture legislation.
