Decree No. 94/2014 approving the Regulation on Urban Solid Waste Management.

This Decree approves the Regulation on Urban Solid Waste Management. This Regulation, consisting of 4 Chapters and 2 Annexes, aims at establishing general rules related to residue disposal, including: municipal solid waste management rules in the country applying to all natural and legal, public and private persons involved in the production and management of solid urban waste and the production and management of industrial and medical waste treated in the urban area. In particular, setting the general principles of waste management, powers and obligations, the obligation to draw up an Integrated Management Plan for Municipal Solid Waste and Environmental Licensing of centres for the treatment and final disposal of municipal solid waste. It also establishes fees and penalties for illegal activities.
