Ministerial Decision No. 161/2014 approving the Management Plan for the Shrimp Fishery within the Sofala Bank for the period 2014-2018.

This Ministerial Decision approves the Management Plan for the Shrimp Fishery within the Sofala Bank for the period 2014-2018. This Management Plan, consisting of seven Sections and 3 Tables, establishes requirements to be satisfied in order to perform Shrimp Fishery within the Sofala Bank for the above mentioned period. It focuses on the contribution of shrimp fisheries to the national economy, on the rationale and objectives for the management plan, on the key guiding policies to the management Plan, on the overview of the shrimp fisheries within the Sofala Bank, on the management and operational objectives of the Management Plan, on the management measures and performance indicators and the institutional arrangements for its implementation and monitoring. The objectives of this Plan are also to provide an overall benefit (economic, social and financial) to the society for poverty reduction within a framework of sustainability of the resource in particular, and the aquatic ecosystem in general.
