Abstract
This Ministerial Order establishes the approval of hunting quotas and the official hunting season for the year 2026 in Mozambique. The primary objective of the Order is to fix and regulate the allowable quotas for the capture or harvesting of wildlife species, in accordance with the applicable legal framework governing wildlife management. It also formally sets the duration of the 2026 hunting season, which runs from 1 April to 30 November, thereby providing a clear temporal framework for lawful hunting activities. The Order further aims to ensure the controlled and regulated use of wildlife resources by distributing hunting quotas across different management areas, including reserves, hunting concessions, and community zones. By defining species-specific quotas and their allocation by region and management category, the Order supports the sustainable management and monitoring of wildlife populations, while aligning hunting practices with national conservation policies and regulatory instruments.
