Abstract
This Notice establishes guidelines for mitigating the impact of climate risks on financial and non-financial risk categories. This Notice applies to credit institutions, financial companies and other institutions supervised by the Bank of Mozambique. Institutions should identify, measure, control and monitor physical and transition risks that have an impact on financial and non-financial risks affecting results and capital and liquidity positions. Institutions must adopt a strategic approach to climate risk management, in line with their risk appetite and in accordance with risk policies, procedures and controls, under the terms of the Risk Management Programme established in the Risk Management Guidelines, approved by Notice No. 4/GBM/2013 of 18 September. Institutions should include the climate risk management framework in the Risk Management Programme.
