Abstract
Resolution No. 1/94 ratifying the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, June 1992. The ultimate objective of this Convention and any related legal instrument that the Conference of the Parties may adopt is to achieve, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Convention, the stabilization of concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere at a level that would avoid dangerous anthropogenic interference in the climate system. Such a level should be reached within a time frame sufficient to allow ecosystems to naturally adapt to climate change, to ensure that food production is not threatened and to allow economic development to proceed in a sustainable manner. The Resolution ratifies the United Nations Convention on Climate Change, recognizing that the Earth's climate change and its adverse effects are a common concern of humanity, concluded in New York (United States of America), on 9 May 1992.
