Resolution No. 25/2023 ratifying the Agreement on Social Security between the Republic of Mozambique and the Federative Republic of Brazil, signed on May 11, 2017, in Maputo.

This Resolution ratifies the Agreement on Social Security between the Republic of Mozambique and the Federative Republic of Brazil, signed on May 11, 2017, in Maputo. This agreement will apply for Mozambique, on the legislation on Mandatory Social Security, with regard to the following benefits: a) Disability pension; b) Old age pension; c) Survival pension; and d) Sickness benefit. For the part of Brazil, on the legislation of the General Social Security Regime and the Public Service Pension Regimes, observing the provisions of number 2 of Article 13 of this Agreement, with regard to the following benefits: a) Retirement due to disability; b) Retirement based on age; c) Death pension; and d) Sickness benefit. Workers to whom this Agreement applies are subject, exclusively, to the Social Security legislation of the Contracting Party in whose territory they carry out their work activities, except for the exceptions provided for in article 7. The rights acquired by people under the legislation of one of the Contracting Parties are maintained by that Party, even when the interested party is residing in the territory of the other party. The employee of a government body serving in the territory of the other Party will be subject to the legislation of the contracting Party.
