Resolution No. 40/2020 approving the Statute of the National Institution for the Development of Fisheries and Aquaculture (IDEPA).

This Resolution approves the Statute of the National Institution for the Development of Fisheries and Aquaculture (IDEPA). IDEPA, IP is responsible for: a) prepare specialized statistical studies on fishing activities and for the development of infrastructure to support small-scale fishing and aquaculture; b) propose policies and strategies, plans and programmes on the development and extension of fisheries and aquaculture, with an emphasis on small-scale; c) promote the development of fisheries and aquaculture, with a view to increasing the capacity of operators in the production, valorisation, management and marketing of small national fisheries producers; d) carry out and coordination, within the scope of fishing activities, of research, experimentation, demonstration and extension activities with the direct involvement of local bodies and communities of small-scale fishers and aquaculturists; e) promote actions oriented towards the implementation of support infrastructures for the production, processing, conservation and commercialization of fishery and aquaculture products; and f) monitor and evaluate of programmes and projects to support the development of fisheries and aquaculture.
