Resolution No. 4/2025 approving the Statute of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries.

This Resolution approves the Statute of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries, created by Presidential Decree No. 1/2025. The Ministry governs controls, monitors, evaluates the implementation and ensures the execution of legislation and public policies in the fields of agriculture, livestock, agricultural hydraulics, agro-forestry plantations, food security, maritime planning, the blue economy, fisheries, land administration and management, geomantics, forests and wildlife, the environment, climate change and conservation areas. In particular, the Ministry is responsible for: Promoting agricultural, livestock, forestry and fisheries production to satisfy consumption, agro-industrialization, marketing and competitiveness of agricultural products; sustainable development and rational use of resources to agriculture and food and nutritional security; Promoting the sustainable use of agro-forestry resources, research and technical assistance in agriculture and food and nutrition security; Coordinating, and monitoring agricultural and food security programmes; Supervising actions aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture;
Licensing related activities; Planning and land management; Implement integrated land development, taking into account the environment, conservation areas, forests and wildlife, to mitigate the impacts of climate change; Land administration and management; Managing and sustainable use of forests and wildlife; Managing of the national network of conservation areas; Promoting conservation areas as a potential tourist destination; Maintaining and developing the environmental area; Developing Blue Economy activities; Authorizing concessions, research and other activities that require the use of the sea and its ecosystems; Promoting the use and exploitation of the sea's resources and respective ecosystems; and Regulation the sustainable use of water, the prevention and reduction of pollution of the aquatic environment and the ecosystems conservation.
