Regulations relating to appeals to Water Tribunal (GN No. 270 of 2023).

The Water Resources Management Act of 2013 established the Water Tribunal to decide on appeals against decisions of the Minister responsible for water affairs. These Regulations, made by the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, provide further rules for the functioning of the Tribunal, the lodging of appeals with the Tribunal and certain procedural requirements in relation to hearings. When hearing an appeal in accordance with section 120 of the act and these regulations, the Water Tribunal may apply any of the rules of the magistrates’ court as it may determine and with the necessary changes, to any matter not provided for in the Act or these regulations, provided that the rules so applied are not inconsistent with the Act or these regulations. The Minister may oppose an appeal in accordance with these Regulations.
