Revised National Science, Technology And Innovation Policy (Nstip) (2020-2030).

The Revised National Science, Technology And Innovation Policy aims to embed the application of science, technology, and innovation across all sectors of the Namibian economy to achieve the goals of Vision 2030. Its goal is to promote and foster the development and application of science, technology, and innovation in all spheres of society to advance socio-economic growth. The policy comprises twelve chapters and two appendices.
The overall objective of the Revised National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (NSTIP) 2020-2030 is to transform Namibia’s National System of Innovation (NSI) into a dynamic and robust configuration of public and private institutions that produce, use, and govern science, technology, and innovation for sustainable development. This policy contains nine objectives complemented by related strategies: (i) to improve the policy, legislative, and regulatory environment; (ii) to promote strategic partnerships and collaborations; (iii) to enhance scientific and technical competencies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); (iv) to improve gender equality and mainstreaming in STEM; (v) to increase the utilization of scientific and technical knowledge for societal advancement; (vi) to promote a culture of science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship; (vii) to accelerate research in technological advancements in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET); (viii) to improve research and innovation infrastructure provision; (iv) to increase scientific productivity and technological output.
