Abstract
This Directive lays down some amendments to Directive 2006/87/EC concerning technical requirements to be met by inland waterway vessels. The aim of these amendments is to ensure that European Union inland navigation certificates and the vessel certificates delivered in accordance with the Rhine Vessel Inspection Regulation are issued on the basis of technical requirements which guarantee an equivalent level of safety.
