Abstract
This Act provides for rules aimed at preventing the air pollution, here in relation with controls over ozone-depleting substances.
The Act is divided into 14 sections.
Main topics regulated by this Act are as follows: general definitions and interpretations; competent bodies; offences and related penalties; enforcement; authorizations; and powers of national government bodies.
This Act has the direct purpose to transpose into the Legal system of Gibraltar the provisions of Regulation (EC) no 1005/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009 on substances that deplete the ozone layer as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) no 744/2010 of 18 August 2010 with regard to the critical uses of halons; and Regulation (EU) no 517/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 on fluorinated greenhouse gases and repealing Regulation (EC) no 842/2006.
