Abstract
The present Government Decree contains provisions to prevent and reduce the impact of certain plastic products on the environment, in particular the aquatic environment, and on human health. It also aims at promoting the transition to a circular economy in Åland. Section 3 prohibits the placing on the market of the following plastic products: 1) Products containing oxo-degradable plastics; and 2) Single-use plastic products referred to in Annex 1 of this Decree. The Act further lays down packaging and labelling requirements for plastic products whose placing on the market is permitted.
