Abstract
The Order provides rules for commercial fishing with Greenlandic registered fishing vessels, as well as foreign fishing vessels on Greenland's fishing territory. It shall also apply to commercial fishing with foreign vessels when fishing on Greenland quotas outside Greenland's fishing territory. The Order specifies requirements and standards for fishing gear to be used and restricts or prohibits fishing in specified areas. There may be observer The Order also concerns the marking of fishing gear. requirements for new fishing opportunities.
Based on observations of the catch of live corals and live sea fungi, the Government assesses for Fisheries, Catching and Agriculture, whether an area should be considered a vulnerable marine ecosystem. the Department for Fisheries may decide to close down areas considered to be vulnerable marine ecosystem for bottom trawl fishing or other bottom contact gear.
