Abstract
This Law provides rules for the production, control, labelling, certification and processing of agricultural products and foodstuffs produced organically. The text consists of 33 articles divided into 6 Parts as following: Basic provisions (1); Requirements to establish organic agriculture (2); Registration (3); Supervision (4); Penalties (5) and Final provisions (6). This Law provides rules for organic agricultural production prohibiting the use of fertilizers, pesticides and additives of chemical origin. After defining requirements for the establishment of organic agriculture and for the transition from traditional to organic agriculture, this Law specifies conditions for collecting, processing, packing and transport of products. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture is the competent authority that shall approve and issue the permit for organic production, keep the register of producers and control the quality of products. Federal inspectors for agriculture shall carry out the supervision of the management of this Law.
