Protected Species (Delegation of Powers) Notice 2012 (GN 298/2012).

This Notice of the Minister responsible for conservation services authorizes and delegates the Director of the Department of Conservation Services to exercise on his or her behalf the power to issue licences and permits under sections 8 and 8A of the Protected Species Act 2003. Section 8A was inserted in that Act by the Protected Species Amendment Act 2011. Sections 8 and 8A provide for licences and permits that allow to engage in any activity that would otherwise be prohibited or restricted by the Protected Species Act 2003 for the purposes as specified in those sections.
