Recommendation of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 34 “On unified approaches to recording milk productivity and conducting laboratory control of the quality of milk from cattle in the dairy productive cattle.”

Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission recommends to interested Member States from the date of publication of this Recommendation on the official website of the Eurasian Economic Union to apply unified approaches to recording milk productivity and conducting laboratory quality control of milk from dairy cattle according to the Appendix. In order to increase the reliability of the processes of accounting for milk productivity and conducting laboratory control of the quality of milk from dairy cattle in the territories of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, it is recommended to establish, on the basis of this document, a procedure for conducting selection accounting, while defining the functions of participants in selection accounting and the rules for conducting control of milking, selection, conservation, registration, storage and transportation of milk samples, testing of milk samples, as well as recording, storage and exchange of information on the results of breeding accounting. Participants in selection registration are authorized bodies of Member States in the field of livestock breeding, carrying out legal regulation of selection registration, business entities (owners of controlled livestock), assistant services, testing laboratories. Business entities are recommended to: (a) take part in the transportation of special equipment, means of measurements and milk samples to the testing laboratory (if necessary); (b) use in order to determine the amount of milk produced for these purposes special equipment and measuring instruments certified in accordance with the legislation of the Member State; (c) ensure proper maintenance and verification of the accuracy of the work of the special equipment and measuring instruments before control of milking; and (d) enter the results of selection registration into the register of breeding animals in the manner established by the legislation of the Member State. Assistance services are recommended to: (a) keeping records of daily (control) milk yield; and (b) control of control milking and recording of daily (control) milk yield.
