Type of law
Regulation
Abstract
This Greenland Home Rule regulation establishes rules to limit pollution from businesses, installations, machinery, heating systems, and vehicles that do not have a specific environmental permit. It prohibits activities causing significant pollution, public health risks, or hygiene problems, and empowers supervisory authorities to issue orders or prohibitions to stop unlawful practices, with health authorities involved in cases of potential health hazards. All decisions can be appealed under the Environmental Protection Act. Non-compliance may result in fines, which can also be imposed on companies, municipalities, or public bodies.
