Anambra State Waste Management Authority Law, no. 9 of 2015.

This Law concerns the establishment of the Anambra State Waste Management Authority. The Law defines the following relevant terms: waste disposal; domestic waste; essential services; hazardous waste; industrial and commercial waste; pollution; public sanitation department. The Law provides for the following matters: functions of the Authority, including: disposal and management of waste, recycling of waste, establishment of sewage disposal systems and clearing of sewage, removal and disposal of carcass of dead animals from public places, monitoring the clearing, cleaning and maintenance of drainage facilities within the State, preparing master plans for waste collection and disposal in the cities, towns and villages within the State, controlling pests, conducting research in relation to refuse collection and disposal systems. Further matters covered by this Law include: staff of the authority; sanitation obligations, offences and penalties; establishment of the environmental sanitation court; financial provisions.
