Consumer Protection Committee (Establishment) Law, no. 7 of 1995.

This Law establishes the State Consumer Protection Committee and appoints its committees and members, in order to achieve the following objectives: monitoring foodstuff prices, fixing transport fares within the State after consultation with transport unions, advising the Governor on rent payable in various areas of towns within the State, eliminating touts in the motor parks in the State, ensuring the enforcement of legislation on the prohibition of sale of alcohol in motor parks, assisting farmers within the State with transportation arrangement for movement of harvested crops for sale.
