Abstract
These Regulations, made under sections 32 (a) and 33 (b) and (v) of the Petroleum Industry Act, No. 6, 2021, provide for: prescribing midstream and downstream petroleum operations and activities to be subject to a licence, permit, authorisation or approval from the Authority; indicating fees payable to the Authority for the grant, reissue or renewal of a licence, permit, authorisation; establishing levies. Therefore, these Regulations apply to the grant, reissue or renewal of a licence, permit, authorisation or approval in the Nigerian midstream and downstream activities and operations. Matters covered by these Regulations include: prohibition from undertaking activities without licence; payment to the Authority Fund for imported petroleum products sold in Nigeria, natural gas sold in Nigeria, and petroleum products produced, processed, refined, and sold in Nigeria; payment of prescribed fees.
