National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) (2015-2030).

This National Energy Efficiency Action Plan includes basic data and information on energy efficiency activities and programmes in Nigeria, in order to overcome hindrances to the development, improve the energy efficiency in the country and promote achievable energy efficiency targets, including gender indicators. The Action Plan defines targets and standards for lighting, distribution of electricity, for energy efficiency in building and industries, and focuses on: improvement of the efficiency of the bioenergy sector; curbing the firewood demand below supply capacity; encouraging private investment in renewable energy; reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; addressing the issue of environmental degradation resulting from pollution, deforestation and vegetation loss; creation of public awareness campaigns.
