National Hygiene Promotion Strategy Nigeria.

This National Hygiene Promotion Strategy for Nigeria aims at promoting sanitation and hygienic behaviour among individuals, households, communities, schools, and markets, in order to tackle the serious issue of water-related diseases among the population and reduce economic losses related to poor sanitation. The Strategy provides a classification of water-related diseases and infections, and defines the following objectives: educating the population on the importance of hand washing and connecting health and hygiene; promoting safe drinking water and environmental sanitation; strengthening waste disposal procedures; creating linkages between hygiene promotion and education.
