National Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for Food Fortification Programmes in Nigeria.

This National Monitoring and Evaluation Framework provides for coordinating the monitoring and evaluation activities of government in the implementation of food fortification programmes; for facilitating processes for ensuring consistent collection, collation and dissemination of good quality data on food fortification in the country; and for promoting information sharing and effective feedback for evidence-based and informed decision making. The key objectives of this Framework are: ensuring that food fortification interventions are carried out in accordance with statutory food fortification requirements; ensuring that fortification interventions are available, affordable and acceptable to the population; ensuring that the population consumes fortified food and that consumption meets international requirements; specifying how the micronutrients status has improved in the population in relation to fortification efforts.
