Abstract
These Regulations, made under the Nigerian Ports Authority Act, concern pilotage in Nigerian waters pilots appointed by the Nigerian Ports Authority for a specified port and concern the licensing of such pilots and related matters and compulsory pilotage. They also define offences relating to pilotage.
A Harbour master may issue licences in the Form A in the First Schedule to these Regulations authorizing the person named therein to be a licensed pilot for the pilotage district of that port. Pilotage by a licensed pilot shall be compulsory for every ship exceeding ten tons gross tonnage entering, leaving or changing its berth within the specified districts.
