South-West Development Commission (Establishment) Act, 2025.

This Act, consisting of six parts, establishes the South-West Development Commission, as a body corporate empowered to: formulate policies and guidelines for the development of the South- West States; implement programmes for the sustainable development of the South-West Zone, in the fields of infrastructure, transportation, health, education, employment, agriculture, water supply, industrialisation, housing and urban development, electricity and telecommunications; identify factors inhibiting the development of the South West States; assess any project funded in the South-West States by mineral extracting and mining companies, oil and gas producing companies, and any other company including non-governmental organisations and ensure that funds released for such projects are properly utilised; address ecological and environmental problems that arise from the extraction and mining of solid minerals, exploration of oil mineral; provide for the prevention and control of oil spillages, flaring and environmental pollution; make all the necessary actions to improve sustainable development of the South-West States and their peoples. The Act also provides for financial measures and establishes the funds of the Commission.
