Abstract
This is a subsidiary legislation of the Agriculture Law of Enugu State. These Regulations are made by the Commissioner for Agriculture of the State to provide details on the Swollen Shoot disease which describes the forms and variants of the viral disease which attacks the Cocoa plant. The Regulations places authority on the Chief Inspector of Agriculture to enter into farms for inspection and mark the affected Cocoa plants for destruction or treatment. The Regulations require the Inspector to notify the owners of the trees prior to the inspection so that the owners are present during the inspection and marking. However the Regulations empower the Inspector to carry on with the process of marking the affected trees after the owner fails to attend.
