Town and Country Planning Law, Chapter 136 of 1946.

This Law concerns various uses of land, including: erection of buildings, conversion into a dwelling-house of any building not originally constructed for human habitation, making any addition to an existing building, roofing and covering open spaces. The Law provides for the following matters: planning schemes and planning authorities; declaration of planning areas; preparation of planning schemes and relating variations; execution of schemes; power of surveys for carrying out planning schemes; acquisition and disposal of land for planning schemes; payment of compensation; legal procedures and powers of the High Court; financial matters; rehousing of displaced persons; redistribution of holdings; general offences.
