Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector 2023-2025 Medium-Term Sector Strategy (MTSS) - Adamawa State.

This Sector Strategy outlines the provisions of the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector for the 2023 through 2025 period in the Adamawa State. The Strategy is structured as follows: 1) introduction, including motivation for preparing the Strategy, process used for developing the Strategy; 2) analysis of the characteristics of the WASH Sector, institutional relationships and challenges facing the Sector; 3) Development of Sector Strategy, focusing on different aspects of the Medium-Term Sector Strategy programme, the strategic responses to identified challenges, financial resources from diverse sources, proposed programmes and strategic priorities; 4) Expenditure Projection Process and Capital, showing the assumptions behind the financial and estimates of cost of projects contained in the Medium-Term Sector Strategy; 5) Annual Performance Review and Monitoring and Evaluation. The Mission of the Strategy is: ensuring the provision of accessible, affordable and sustainable safe water, sanitation and hygiene for present and future generations for the people of Adamawa through innovative service delivery and a commitment to excellence. The Vision of the Strategy aims at allowing Adamawa State to be one of the top ten States in all aspects of water, sanitation and hygiene indices in Nigeria. The Strategy concerns the following sector objectives and relating programmes: improvement in quality, availability and access to water; increasing quality, availability and access to water; increasing access to water supply for all people in Adamawa State; reducing prevalence of water and sanitation related diseases in the State; strengthening water treatment improvement programme; improving legal framework for the WASH sector; increasing access to safe water in rural areas and small towns.
