Yobe State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency Law, Chapter 115

This Law provides for establishing the Yobe State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, its board, and specifies the following functions of the Agency: preparing a comprehensive inventory of rural water supply and sanitation facilities throughout the State; preparing a rural water supply and sanitation master plan; regulating all inter-sectoral borehole drilling activities and setting standards for all sectors in the State; improving eradication of water borne and sanitation related diseases through the promotion of behavioural changes among communities with respect to water waste management, environmental and personal hygiene; improving low cost appropriate technology options for the communities in rural water supply and sanitation; setting standards for construction of sanitation facilities. The Law also concerns financial provisions and funds of the Agency; proceedings of the Board; powers of chief executive and other staff.
