Abstract
This Act provides for strengthening coordination of the spatial integration of offshore wind energy with the activities at sea, in order to achieve the renewable energy objectives. The Act applies in the Dutch territorial sea and in the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone, and concerns: designation of site and areas suitable for wind energy facilities installation in the national waters; environmental and ecological interest, and the sustainable use of the space in the sea; efficient connection of a wind farm to a connection point; results of research into meteorological conditions, soil conditions, currents and wave heights, environmental soil research, archaeological research and other environmental research; issuance of authorisation and permits for operating a wind farm in the Dutch territorial sea or the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone; granting of subsidies and incentives; monitoring and enforcement provisions.
