Act No. 399 of 2003 amending the Act concerning Experiments on Animals

This Act amends the principal Act by adding a new article 10e that prohibits the any tests involving the following animals: chimpanzee (pan troglodytes), bonobo (pan paniscus), orang-utan (pongo pygmaeus), gorilla (gorilla gorilla). The prohibition does not apply to testing on chimpanzees in relation with research on hepatitis-C that has been started before 1 January 2003.
