Abstract
This Vision presents an outline of the transition to circular agriculture, with actions needed to put this into practice. The Vision focuses on farming, livestock, horticulture and fisheries, as core sectors that can contribute significantly to the prosperity of the Netherlands, and whose stakeholders are closely interlinked in the supply chains from producer to consumer. The Vision analyses the challenges each sector has to deal with, and specifies the following characteristics of circular agriculture: soil management and good soil quality; efficient livestock farming; increasing precision in crop farming, in order to prevent diseases, pests and weeds; use of biological pest control systems; attention to water quality and sustainable energy supplies in horticulture and floriculture; increasing the sustainability of the fisheries sector; improving role and awareness of consumers in circular agriculture.
