Abstract
This Management Plan, elaborated as an integrated part of the National Water Programme 2022-2027, moves from the consideration that floods can have major consequences for people's health, the economy, the environment and cultural heritage, with indirectly consequences beyond national borders. Therefore, this Management Plan focus on cross-border cooperation in reducing the risk of flooding. The Plan provides for: preliminary flood risk assessment; designation and classification of risk areas; measures for cultural heritage and monuments protection; different flood risks; sustainable management of flood risk; general and specific objectives for designated flood areas, and related interventions; National climate change adaptation strategies related to rivers; coordination of international river basins institutions; participation of governments, social groups and private citizens.
