Abstract
This Implementation Programme provides for the Vision for the Future of Plant Protection 2030 and organises Dutch agriculture and horticulture in a way that ensures not only crop health but also the health of the environment, with innovative measures and products to control diseases, pests and weeds. In compliance with sustainable development goals, this Programme concerns: integrated pest management measures; sustainable production methods. The Programme is based on three strategic goals: resilient plants and cultivation systems; close connections between agriculture, farming, horticulture and nature; near-zero environmental emissions and near-zero residues on harvested products. Targeted measures of these goals are: plant cultivation based on resilience approach; cultivation of robust variety; prevention measures and soil fertility initiatives; use of fertilisers; use of biocides and biological measures; protection of biodiversity in plant production; maintenance of food safety targets relating to residues of plant protection products at their current high levels; application of phytosanitary import and export requirements; innovation and investments. The Programme includes the following processes focuses on plant protection and related matters: national programme for agricultural soils; application of circular economy principles in agriculture; restoring biodiversity in green spaces in the Netherlands; revision of manure policy.
